Migrants gathering on Mexican side of the river after successfully crossing the border STORYLINE: More than 1,000 migrants in a second caravan that forced its way across the river from Guatemala on Tuesday have now begun arriving in the southern Mexico city of Tapachula. Gerbert Hinestrosa, 54, a straw-hatted migrant from Santa Barbara, Honduras, was traveling with his wife and teenage son. Hinestrosa said he realized how hard it would be to make it to the U.S. border. "Right now I feel good." The first, larger caravan also passed through Tapachula about 10 days ago, and now is about 250 miles (400 kilometers) ahead, in the Oaxaca state city of Juchitan. The second group of several hundred migrants crossed the Suchiate River from Guatemala to Mexico en masse on Monday, but were met by ranks of Mexican federal police who blocked them from entering.
