AERIAL OF FLOODING STORY: Coast Guard officers rescued a survivor of Hurricane Michael on Wednesday (October 10) following the storm's devastating impact on the Florida Panhandle. Video released by the Defense Department showed a member of the rescue crew lowering himself down from an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter in Panama City. Soon after, the survivor was brought to safety in a basket. Meanwhile aerial shots showed widespread devastation from Michael in Mobile, Alabama. Michael, the third most powerful hurricane ever to hit the U.S. mainland, weakened overnight to a tropical storm but marched northeast on Thursday, toppling trees with 50 mph (80 kph) winds and bringing "life threatening" flash flooding to Georgia and Virginia, the National Hurricane Center (NHC)reported.
